Getting more from your Deathproof Challenge
You've heard me say time and again that power output and exercise intensity are the drivers for physiological change.
In order to drive your intensity up, we've drilled high-quality movement mechanics into you to allow you to express more output through improved muscular recruitment (technique). This increases the amount of work done per workout and you guys have done a great job of capitalizing on this, leaving you fatigued by the end of your workout. So, how do we get even more effect during this six week period?
Increased volume by virtue of increased workout frequency.
Your body doesn't recognize the difference between long periods of intense exercise and lots of shorter periods. Except that, using a strategy of multiple short intensity sessions you have the ability to recover and therefore increase periods of intensity even further. The best way to do this is to add another workout or two to your schedule.
You have an unlimited schedule at your disposal for 6 weeks. Why wouldn't you try to get the most from this?
Here's an additional challenge for this week. Try to accumulate 1 extra CrossFit class and one extra SPECIALIST! class or 2 extra SPECIALIST! classes to your schedule for the rest of the challenge.
The increase in volume will promote a vast increase in fitness, anabolic requirements, and motivation. You will be workout out harder than ever and demonstrating to yourself that you have moved beyond your previous capabilities into an area that you may never have thought you could exist. The most exciting thing about this is that you'll recognize after a week or so that you're capable of EVEN MORE. You'll move into an arena that you may never have thought possible for yourself. You'll start to understand the enormous capacity of your genetic capabilities and you'll start to replan your goals accordingly. Spartan Race, Tough Mudder, Marathon, Ironman? You'll start to understand how these feats are possible and that you have the machinery to take part in life to that extent. Your horizons will broaden. Your confidence will soar. You will understand that you have begun to change and that you don't ever want to go back to the way you were. You will love this change.
Reply to this email with a couple of lines stating your plan to fit the extra classes into your schedule...
"I'm going to start coming Wednesdays and do back to back CrossFit then CRANK!"
"I'm going to do an extra SHRED! class on Thursdays and fit another class into my weekend".
No need for any more than that. Plan your week. Commit using your reply. Execute. Those who plan and execute will receive an extra interim body comp after the second successfully applied week.
Time to level up (as I hear they say in the video gaming world).
