I promised you a reprieve in week 3 regarding your nutrition prescription. Here it is.
I told you during the signup process that week 3 would get easier on you nutritionally. It will. Here's how:
We have a whole set of recipe books to give you access to. They were compiled by people who were successful at the National level in these kinds of challenges so now you get to eat what the champions eat.
There are recipes for all kinds of dishes and snacks for carnivores and vegetarians alike. They are all similar in that their ingredients are lean meat and veggies, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, and no sugar. However, there are 2 different levels of recipes. Pro and Elite. These levels are separated by their level of restrictions on some foods. For example, Elite level allows no dairy, no legumes, no potatoes, no added colors, no preservatives, etc. Pro level relaxes this a bit and starter even further. When we competed for titles, Dree, Scotty, Ken and stuck almost entirely to Elite level. However, you can choose your level of commitment and either level will provide you with excellent results. Elite will act faster and reduce food sensitivities but they both work.
You will also see another meal plan and explanation on how to use it. It doesn't require macros to be kept calculated and concentrates on food quality rather than amounts.
That said, let me tell you what I'll be doing. I'll be using some of my favorite Elite level recipes and fitting them into my macro profile thus maintaining the methodology of the first 2 weeks. Why? Because I want the most effect that I can get in this 6 week period and I feel no need to compromise. Some of you will be hitting Spring Break and you may want to consider "being present" with your friends and family rather than irritating them with your nutritional piety. That's perfectly ok. When you come back from your jollies you can re-engage and you'll see that you didn't do that much harm in a week. It's about chronic behavior. Habits. Unless you plan to live in Panama City Beach then you'll probably not bring your vacation nutrition home with you. We don't have a Joes Crab Shack around here anyway.
Having the recipe books and the meal plan will make it easier for you to buy and prep your food in advance and should make your week more efficient and less stressful than having to juggle your numbers every day to meet your macro goals.
